Kinda...
Easiest way will be to use IK (if you dare), or to get the new Lock & Key
plug-in, which claims to eliminate theses things, allow parenting
anything to anything else, ect. Should be available in about 2 weeks
from Anit Gravity.
Other way is to move do the move animation like this:
Figure out how far to move your ant in one walk cycle. Create a key for
it moved that far out at a point which reflects the end of the cycle (OK,
you have an ant. You want it to move 1 meter (BIG ant) over 60 frames.
So, frame 0 has the ant at 0,0,0, and frame 60 has the ant at 0,0,1
meter. Make a preview, and the ant slides along -- not very useful.)
Do your walk cycle as you would normally. Now, the easiest way to
eliminate the feet-slipping is with a dry-erase marker. Go to the first
frame where the foot hits the ground, and mark it with the dry-erase on
the screen. Then go to the frame just before the leg comes off the
ground, and (since the whole ant in moving at (ie) 1 meter pre 60 frames)
rotate the foot so it is on the dry erase dot.
OK, so it isn't really elegant, but it works. At least, that's what I've
been doing all summer :)
Hope this helps...
